Weather seems to be better than forecast here in Gloucester. WIsh I was there and not here at work. Think the riders will get off fairly lightly rain wise. How wet is the course looking?

I hope the worst of the rain held off for them although the radar picture is still showing heavy showers drifting across that area this evening.

Tomorrow should be better but I would imagine the course will be pretty cut up by then.

Hahaha, not ridden at Eastnor I take it? 😉

As confirmed by Sharki's Garmin, 10.3 miles and 1400ft of climbing per lap...

No it's dead flat and there's a cafe half way round for you to stop and tell each other how you owned that last gravel path. 😉

I remember the STW lurkers tent one year. First time solo, and I stopped at the top to watch the time tick by with 2 stellas and a doughnut. I have been a subscriber ever since.

450m of climbing per lap (per Matt Page's tweet yesterday).... a photo of the start/finish can be deceiving!

I'm sat at home this year anyway - my lounge is definitely flat.

I couldn't think of anything more mind numbing than going to one of these stupid events with hundreds of other idiots everywhere I looked.

I bet that chap in the pic above and his mates all laugh everytime they see him in his fat suit. He is truly the funiest man alive, what a character!! I wish I rode with people like that...

Mayhem does look like a good event and Nick Craig = legend. It's not just him that's an immensely nice guy and good on a bike, it's his whole family, very unfair 🙁

Jo was putting in a cracking time till that point.
His wife reported back to us, having taken him to hospital.
Broken collarbone, and all the muscles down his back have gone
into spasam. So he's in a fair bit of pain, he's
vowed that he'll stick to road racing from now on... 8)

I was getting a bit nervous waiting for my lap - I was third, and there were multiple announcements over the PA and people talking about riders being hospitalised, broken ankles, broken collarbones, etc. Did wonder what I let myself in for...

Hope Jo recovers soon!

OmG sdb that baby frog is just toooooooo cute!!!

Well done to anyone who did it, seemed quieter this year at the start line than in previous years but full respect to everyone who had a go, spesh the soloists!! I've vowed that someday I shall do a proper race and be half decent, maybe in my 30th year to give me 24 months practice time 🙂

That last decent might look flat. It isn't. It actually 'processed' the energy bar I'd consumed at the top of the hill into, er, waste matter' by the time I'd got to the road crossing! 😯

Bouncy forks next year...

In reference to grahams crash photo.
I sat by there for a bit and that little bump was taking everyone by surprise, even when there was a guy unconcious on the floor with a couple guys up the track warning riders to slow down folks were still hitting it at full bore. The second guy, who i saw crash, properly nailed himself. Even the official race marshal/safety guy was struggling to slow folks down.
Can't believe it took them so long to do something about the hazard. The ambulance visited that spot four times before someone decided to do something about it.
