Bullheart - haven't received any details about where people should send sponsorship money. Do you have a preferred way?
Also any details about how to sign up for MM would be cool.
if we can get a quick 4th rider
*cough* I have age and suede on my side...

Emailed earlier regarding MM if you are looking for anyone else

No-one talks this way. I work in an inner-city London school teaching urban teenagers, and I've never heard this type of shizzle. Stop it.
Crispy Bacon - You are in; my error. Don't panic! As are you, Karinofnine. Many thanks guys...
I will email you all (on your given STW emails) copies of the Sarcoma Trust official sponsor forms for MM. Please print them off, and either use them or refer people to the JustGiving site for Team Bullheart (www.justgiving.com/teambullheart). I am currently updating the page with information about the TeamBullheart members. In order to do this, I require;
1) A photo, suitably wacky, preferably in a bizarre pose
2) Your real name and 'nickname' or STW forum name. If you don't provide on I'll make it up.
3) Your likes and dislikes. Three of each.
4) Kit size. I'm hoping to sort out proper stash, and that might require either a small payment or a sponsor. Get asking your mates!
For the race dresses are a must; flowery, Laura Ashley numbers are apparently where its at.
Please email these to thebullheart@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Team List:
As before, plus Kof9 and Crispy Bacon.
Ciao!
by the way how much would the entry cost per person?.
Cost has been covered by the Sarcoma Trust, under the proviso that each rider attempts to raise a minimum of £750.
Looks like I didn't make the cut. Is there a reserve list?

I haven't worn a dress since I was 5. What if I like it?

For those of you that have emailed me and are not included in on the list, there is another option. We could run a genuinely competitive team consisting of 4 as well. If those of you in the above list want to consider participating in a 'fast' team, please let me know and we'll build one, thus freeing up places for four more riders. At the moment, subs include;
toppers3933
Let me know and I'll start begging to the Sarcoma Trust. Sheeesh...
Ok, you've missed me off the list. 😥
"Competitive" team - dezb, singletrackmind, elfin, TSY ?

mailed you Mark.
Like Cap'n Jack Sparrow, gazing down on his motley crew of thieves, vagabonds and inbreds with a mixture of revulsion, pity and bleak expectation, I need those of you that are listed (plus the extra's that have emailed me) to provide me with the information listed below:
Name
DOB

Sent details Mark. Just sorting out a not-too-offensive pic. I may be some time.... 😳
I'm still waiting on some peoples details...
I'm updating the Just Giving page at the moment with everyone's names on it, so that you can direct folk to it if they fancy making a donation. Meg is going to email the sponsorship form to me when she gets to work, and I'll then email it on to you. I have some pretty good news regarding MM; I shall post later...
Can I still enter??
Update on the above:
I'm still waiting for the following rider details:
barnsleymitch
singletrackmind
tazzymtb
ASAP please!
Right. An issue.
I am incredibly grateful for all of you that have volunteered to race at MM for Team Bullheart this year. I think its ace and am a little humbled that so many of the good folk on STW wish to help. My reckoning was that, by putting two teams of ten in, we could raise a lot of money, thus covering the entry fees paid by the Sarcoma Trust and still raising a lot of money to go towards the research. Granted, I have a vested interest in this part of the project (!), but for me it seemed like a good idea.
I have received a fair few emails from people concerned about a number of things. I realise that being part of a ten-man team means that you have limited time in the saddle; I also accept that this means that travelling from all over the country to take part in something that might (competitively) only last two or three laps might be unacceptable too. I had in my head the idea that an event where people got together and showed their support for a cause whilst socialising would be a nice thing, but I get the feeling that isn't what the rest want.
I'm also concerned about peoples worries regarding raising a minimum of £750 for the ST. If I'm honest, I don't think this is a lot of money; with the given time, and the use of FB, word of mouth and other such mediums, its achievable. My problem is this; I don't wonder if it can be done, I just do it. It's that simple. To be fair, if I didn't have this attitude, I'd probably be dead now. And sometimes I get frustrated that others can't do the same. I need to know whether the consensus is that my expectations are too high, because if they are either I'll have to step up and do the job myself, or riders will have to re-evaluate whether they can commit to the terms.
So to address the two issues. I've spoken to Pat at Provelo, who has, in an act of incredible generosity, given us a ten-man team slot for free. With this in mind, I'm thinking of running one ten-man team, and three four-man teams for those wanting to be competitive. If you want to be in a four-man team, you must guarantee that you'll make the £750 minimum; its not enough to just turn up and race on the coat-tails of other peoples hard efforts.
I think this is the fairest way of sorting it. I'm going to have to go back to the ST and beg for another team, but I think I can swing it.
What do people think?
Hi Bullheart,
I am all up for raising money and racing be that in a 4 or a 10. This is the first I have heard of the £750. Is that each? Or as a collective? I am going to raise as much as I possibly can but I doubt I can commit to £750.
Rich
Personally I have no problem with travelling all the way up to the MM event from Cornwall & only doing a few laps as part of a 10 man team enjoying the weekend event, meeting other STW'ers & showing my support to Mark & the Sarcoma Trust.
I would rather be in a non-competitive 10 man team riding without the pressure of racing tho. In fact I would be more than willing to cover the cost of my entry in the 10 man team plus a further suitable donation to the ST too. In addition I will do my best to publicise the event by all possible means & try to raise sponsorship of at least £750 or more.
10 man team is fine by me - should be a good laugh. Will do my best for the £750 😀
As mentioned in my Email
Will attempt to raise as much as possible, and raise awareness too . I have already started , in as much I have to told people if i am wearing a dress, they have to give me some money .
Will it be as much as £750? I doubt it , I wish i could commit , but I cannot .
So I will do a couple of laps in a 10 , And raise as much as I can , and stuff a load in myself.
I would love to do a 4 as its a nice 5 or 6 laps , with a night lap or 2 , but no worries . Its your gig and your rules .
See the issue I have is I go riding my bike every weekend. If I'm just doing a couple of laps, even if I do it butt naked, people aren't going to donate much at all.
At the opposite end of the scale if I enter on my own to do the 24hr I will be likely to get much more... £750, I don't know.
The other issue for me, this isn't the only thing I'm doing this year that I'm going to be asking people to sponsor me for.
Maybe I should enter off my own back or with a willing 3 others who are all comitted to doing what we can for this great cause.
Edit - I will raise £750
It's not really about how many laps you do - it's about supporting a cause (For people giving) and supporting Mark. I'm coming from Scotland and very much looking forward to it.
Does it have to be £750? I mean, it is quite a bit of money, and as STM points out, in a 10-person team, for not a huge amount of effort. Is raising as much as you possibly can enough?
Ten man team for me and I intend to try and raise the £750 still and have got several sponsors willing to give at least a tenner already so let's do this people!.
