Personally, I'll do the event with any size team. I'm slow, but can be relied on to go out in terrible weather at 3am and still make it round without complaining. (Actually, I lied about the lack of complaining bit).
I'm a grumpy, introverted sod (no surprises, eh?), and absolutely hate to ask people for money, so raising the funding will be difficult for me. Not the cash, more the asking. However, the money will be raised, no question, even if I need to put my hand in my pocket if there's a shortfall.
Is raising as much as you possibly can enough?
Yes, It is.
We'll sort out the teams later this week.

EDIT:
Just do what you can guys. I'll sort out the rest.
I can bring beer.
im up for the event in general and mark will concur that i struggle with anything competitive so will be happy to be in the 10 man/woman team....(thus doing very little cycling)
ill raise 750 no bother i reckon...mite get some more! ill provide a 3x5metre easy up,a van to change in and maybe a mechanic, also energy bars/gels....
im coming from scotland also so if anyone wants to share a lift etc.just mail me...
Appologies for a slightly negative earlier post. People don't have to sponser me just for the ride itself, do they. I can think of additional things to do / ways to raise money. I will do my best.
Me and Muz are def up for joining a 10 man team. And we fully intend to raise shitloads of money.
Oh, and my sis says she'd like to come along and brew cups of tea for people. 🙂
Is it £750 a team or per person. If it's a team I think I can raise about half that. I'll do a couple of laps for a 10man team if there is still space.
im defo up for it. im not sure about £750 but ill try my hardest to get it. i am more than happy to come along and do as many laps as im needed to do. ironically i think if i was in a four man team id stand more chance of raising the money. (quite the paradox)
basically what im saying is im happy to commit to whatever you need me to do.
I will give my time to the cause for free. im only in leicester so it isnt that far for me really. i am also handy with a spanner so can work in that capacity aswell if needed. let me know asap what the plan is so i can crack on raising funds.
do you still want my details?
Wunundred! 😀
Sorry.
for those who are unfamiliar with mayhem and are concerned about the lack of laps in a ten man team it may interested to you to know that camping is free and available from thursday evening onwards allowing riders to ride the course on friday and saturday morning before the race begins so you can do as many non-competitive laps as you like before hand so it's still very worthwile as each lap is usually 8-9 miles (it changes from year to year with course alterations).
for those who are unfamiliar with mayhem ......it may interest you to know that camping is free and available from thursday evening onwards allowing riders to ride the huge puddle of mud [s]course on friday and saturday morning before the race begins[/s] so you can do as many soul-destroying [s]non-competitive[/s] laps with a knackered drivetrain as you like before hand so it's still very worthwhile as each lap is usually 8-9 miles (it changes from year to year with course alterations).
There, fixed that for you.
im gonna have to pull out im afraid due to a wedding/other engagement that clashes.....some one can have my place and ill defo donate something to the cause
sorry mark/everyone!
any more news on what's happening yet, i'm still up for this.
I am going to raise as much as i possibly can and don't really care if I don't get to ride.
i have my first £7.50 promised and reckon the rest should come along quickly.
Can someone point me at the place to get a sponsor form or a sponsor website please.
Cheers

Hello folks,
I apologise for my absence over the last few days, and the lack of contact through email or phone. Thanks for those of you that PMed me to offer advice. Obviously MM application day is coming up, and I have a list of names, addresses and bike information that will be sent off to Pat at MM first thing Monday morning. I have lined up two prospective sponsors (one for kit, one for sustenance) but would be more than happy to hear from other potential team sponsors if you can think of any. The Elf is in the process of designing the kit (before you all sigh, it has to be approved first...) and so the lead up time to manufacture will be significantly reduced if potential sponsors umm and ahh...
There have been some issues regarding my email; I appear to have lost some addresses. If you haven’t received an email today with the Sponsorship Form attached please email me at thebullheart@gmail.com ASAP and I’ll get it to you. If you’re worried about my reliability then email crispybacon (Les) and he’ll sort you out. If you haven't received an email from me, but you're in the final original list (as previous in this post) again contact me ASAP. (Napalm - Don't be daft, you're in regardless of the end result... )
You have all gone above and beyond the call of duty with your fundraising, and some of you have got me choked with your innovation and dedication (Nick, Diane, Les, Trout, Jedi, et al) to helping me. Despite the shit at work and other issues I now have my game-head on.

legend!
One thing I'd like to say, re fundraising:
Having a specific amount perperson to be raised can be a bit daunting to some folk, and people might feel a bit bad if they can't raise the £750 on their own, so how about we try to raise £7500 (or as much as poss) as a team? That way, no-one need feel bad about not raising as much as others.
I mean, WCA is going to sell his Merc to raise extra cash (isn't that nice of him? 🙂 ), but I have no Merc to sell, so probbly won't be able to raise as much as him.
And re kit; have no fear, for I am from That London's Famous London, and therefore an urbane, erudite sophisticated young man of style and taste, with me grubby little finger on the pulse of fashion, so the team kit will be well hench.
so how about we try to raise £7500 (or as much as poss) as a team?
Agreed to all.
I mean, WCA is going to sell his Merc to raise extra cash
What? Are you joking? Tell him on no account is he to do that. Jesus...
Heh! 😀
I thought WCA was being sponsored per domestic accident he had between now and then?
Did the fast team of 4 ever get off the ground?
I'm gonna ride LEJOG in a couple of months with any proceeds going to the Bullheart, reckons it might make me fit enough to even do a solo on the mayhem?
Go for it S Yeti! 😀
