Fed up of UK weather, I'm looking at doing a (SUP) surf camp near Peniche, but the place also rents bikes which might be handy if I get bored of being battered by the sea.
Anyone ridden the area? Wot's it like? Any other comments on bars/restaurants welcome as I'm gonna be travelling solo for the fist time ever and I'm not exactly outgoing!
If you're not outgoing then what the bars are like won't make any difference - it is ALWAYS up to you to be outgoing and make the effort.
Portugal is a lovely country IME, no idea about riding there, but for me solo travelling is not about riding a perfect trail but having fun or whatever adventures trying to find one or some other experience.

They people running the camp seem friendly, but would be interested to know if its worth taking proper bike kit, or it more 'leisure' riding...

I've not been to Peniche, but Portugal's a lovely country to visit. But when are you planning on visiting? It's not going to be that warm there at this time of year, and there's a fair chance it'll rain...
Was aiming for easter but can't get flights for when I wanted to go, so now June I think when the sea should be a little warmer!
