I am sure the sunshine helped, but I had a great time yesterday at Pedalhounds! I entered a while ago before realising it was on mother's day, but 'er indoors is pretty chilled and was happy for me to go. I'm still recovering from a nasty shoulder injury from October, and realised on Friday that I hadn't ridden my bike since January 2nd, so apart from a 2 hour blast on Friday afternoon to remind myself how to pedal, the race was my first time off road in almost 3 months! The blind racing mash-up style worked well and the stages were pretty challenging albeit rather short, making the most of what little elevation is there.

I'm sure it wouldn't have been half as much fun if it was cold and wet, and my performance was suitably rusty, but I came away unscathed with a big smile and it's kick started the season's cycling hopefully.

Anyone else from here attend?

We had a great time - really enjoyed it! My g/f really enjoyed herself, helped by several things: 1, the weather was great! 2, overall a relaxed day and the 'mash up' race format was brilliant, and 3, we went round together and I was able to follow her down, so she wasn't worried about faster people coming up behind her and hassling her.

A much better day than her first race, which was a MiniEnduro in FOD, where she spent hours just hanging around (why do they send the ladies off last? If we're supposed to be encouraging more ladies into the sport as they're largely unrepresented when compared to men, then please send them off first so they don't have to hang around getting cold and p****d off! Or have this style of 'mash up' race where they can go down with their partners/SO)

Will definitely do a Pedal Hounds race again!

Various reasons prevented me from entering this one, but I really like the sound of the way these are run, with no practice & I gather the start line is in no particular order to prevent all the hanging around.
Probably the only series I will enter this year, looking forward to the next one at the end of May.

My first enduro. I didn't know what to expect and was quite nervous of being way out of my depth but the short stages were surprisingly novice friendly. Nothing death defying but at the same time it took some skill to get down them in a good time (skill I unfortunately don't possess ๐Ÿ™‚ Trees 1 Me 0 )

Nice event and pleased I did it. I think the sunshine helped and made even the queue for stage 1 bearable. Recommended to anyone who wants to have a go at racing
