[#13066936]

I massively over pronate - walk on the outside of my feet, feet turn out a lot.

It's basically how my bones grew....

The long and short of it is my feet hang off the edge of my pedals if I'm in a comfortable stance.

Obviously bigger pedals help, but I've been thinking about getting some 16mm pedal extenders.

Anyone got any real world experiences?

I don't huck or do massive drops, I'd try this on my more xc ish bike initially. I am heavy though.

What pedals are you using now?

I've got +20mm ones on my bikes, seems to make a more stable platform. I'm a big blubbery unit & I haven't bent my crank arms so far anyway.

I use these ones: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/pedals-cleats/20-jtek-qplus-pedal-extenders-916-inch/

I'm using Vaults on two of my bikes.

They have a pretty big Q factor (stick out a bit from the pedal).

I'm building up my new Cotic and recently got some larger shoes (Impact Pros) and thought I would consider...

I just got some on a road bike for the same reason. Too early to tell if it will reduce knee pain after long rides (I think they will) but they certainly allow a more natural position.

They were 16mm chromo extenders off eBay. The brand was MUQZI but it's just a piece of metal so as long as they're well fabricated, I can't see there is much to choose from. It's literally a hollow tube that's threaded to fit a pedal and crank arm.

I suppose you could measure the difference in outward divergence at the balls of your feet versus at your heel. Mine seems to be 50mm on right foot and 40mm on left. 16mm extenders, plus pedal and crank offset seems to account for that.

I wound try some different pedals. I got some + width Sqlab pedals, (50X they come if different widths)) are the same as my HT P03a pedals…

very wide.

I have big feet.

I can measure up both for you if you want to spare to your vaults.

SQlab make flats and spd compatible pedals with a range of axle lengths - might be worth considering to remove the requirement for an extra part.

I've got some of the flats to go on a new build because I always feel like I'm overhanging regular pedals.

Edit - beaten to the sqlab recommendation by a matter of seconds!

@ivandobski

in have the +5mm 50x on one bike. They are the same width as my HT P03a’’s

The Sqlab pedals are nice, but expensive for they are and same size as the HTs

both are very wide. For the money the HT is the better option.

@rootes1 - yeah but they won't match the SQlab bar/stem/topcap & saddle that's also waiting to go on the build so... 😉

Tbf I'm a massive fan of sqlab's kit, their bars are great.

Hmmm, those Sqlab ones seem to be going the right way about it, but +5mm not really worth it for me.

Shame. Will look into the pedal extenders...

Don't just view +5mm in isolation as what is your point of reference?

The +5mm sqlab are the same width as HT PA 03s - both are very wide and square platform shape.

As above happy to measure up both for you as you might find there are both wider than your vaults. Reason I use them is for my big size 12 feet, to stop shoes hanging off the edge.

The hollow ones scare the life out of me. <br />The solid ones however need your current pedal to have spanner compatibility not just Allen key.
