Oi you.
It's a well known fact on 'ere that the pootles are slow, social peaks based rides. While the name has been franchised, 'peaks' is a vital ingredient!!
Your London bimble* is panda cola to the Peaks Pootle coke.
Jules, send the boys raaahnd!
;o)

I have just checked the train times and it gets me to Edale train station at 8:27.
Location yet to be confirmed, but if you can reach Edale by 8.27 then anywhere this side of Edale should be ok
I struggle to be out of bed for 8.30 on a weekend
I'm hearing you loud and clear ๐ฟ
I'm out of the country with work until later on next month, which is a shame cos' the last one was great! Did somebody just say "Festive Pootle"?
On the 18th, from Roman Lakes in Marple. Tinsel is compulsory.

Gutted... I get back two days later! I'll keep a look out for New Years pootle ๐
Cheers.
O.k. I'm going to sleep in riding gear, pack the car the night before and eat brekkie on route.
Jules will have to put up with a grumpy, tired wife the next day though.
Sambob - glad you're o.k after the treehugging incident yesterday. I normally would laugh at such a crash, however I could see that you were shaking and the tree had come off better. Cake made it better at the cafe afterward ๐
we shall return to lockerbrook I think.
It was a good crash, just a shame NBT was too slow to see it ๐

I've bin doing London Pootles for years matey, and actually own the brand identity. A matter you may want to discuss with my legal team (it's a friend what is a solicitor rather than an entire 'team' I won't lie).
But I'm happy for you to use the name as it's for positive an altruistic reasons. ๐
Pfft.
'London Pootle' dunt work as well as Peaks Pootle. FACT ๐
Perhaps there should be a " Elfin does a Peaks Pootle " ride, just to get him in the fresh air for a bit. ๐
Would he cope with the hills?
Hmm,I think he's paid a visit to North Wales not too long ago, so he could be in with a chance ๐
Would he cope with the cakes more importantly???
He'd be too busy with his continental breakfasts, being from that London n' all.....

That's a valid point you have there Pook ,not everyone can do cakes like us Pootlers ๐ Lancashire Bhaji's,not for "them from down south" ๐
Where is this South that you speak of?
I think Stoke on Trent should be the cut off point ๐
I'd say anywhere south of Leek.
I've yet to make a Pootle ...ever! Always been scuppered by childcare but (prob gonna be the kiss of death) it looks like this could be my chance experience this phenomenon.
If so, I'm gonna celebrate by making a couple of awesome cakes and bring them to the meet, slice and dish out ๐
Did I mention I'm moving house next Friday ๐ฏ
............crossing my fingers and testicles in the hope that I can get out for the, erm, 5th time this year??
I think it's the 5th. Maybe the sixth. They've all blended into one stressful, slow, homogenous soup of bad riding, cake and rain.
๐
Will do my best to make this, Pook's Peak Pootles are always ace!
You forgot the snow, wind and mist ๐
maybe.
We're 50-50 now, 8.30 was always ambitious to say the least but it looks like I might be working ๐
bugger - well, I have to do an early one and if folks want leading by me that's what we'll have to go for!
Have I missed where we're meeting??
Would he cope with the hills?
Well, you'd need to ask SueW and Kevevs off here as to my hillclimbing prowess. They live and ride in North Wales. Proper hills. ๐
I dun Swains Lane on me hybrid SS (38:16) with rack an ting on it. ๐
Nope. Unless I have too, in which case yes.
Having fun working out a route at the mo for you all.
It's been a while since we've had an icy pootle too. 8.30am should give us some frozen trails....
EDIT: Checking the weather forecast, it's saying 10 degrees, rainy and dark, with a sunrise at 8am.
Bring your lights!
Where are we going?
Dunno yet. I'm playing.
Starting Edale though.
Sounds good to me.
That'll do , easy for Les to get to as well.
No, not that Les ! Lesa ๐
I'm digging myself a Les shaped hole here aren't I ? ๐ฏ
Cheesecake chocolatey Brownies, and Mexican / Lancashire Bhajis . ๐
Right. I've worked out a route.
It's a (surprising) 16.6miles give or take, and includes a couple of great descents - so called 'classics', a cafe stop if needed, some climbs where you can have a chat with your fellow pootlers, and some typical pootle pleasantry.
Anyway, 8.30am at the car park here
Probably some BFO'S with Apricot as well . ๐ ๐
