Oi you.

It's a well known fact on 'ere that the pootles are slow, social peaks based rides. While the name has been franchised, 'peaks' is a vital ingredient!!

Your London bimble* is panda cola to the Peaks Pootle coke.

Jules, send the boys raaahnd!

;o)

I have just checked the train times and it gets me to Edale train station at 8:27.

Location yet to be confirmed, but if you can reach Edale by 8.27 then anywhere this side of Edale should be ok

I struggle to be out of bed for 8.30 on a weekend

I'm hearing you loud and clear ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

O.k. I'm going to sleep in riding gear, pack the car the night before and eat brekkie on route.
Jules will have to put up with a grumpy, tired wife the next day though.

Sambob - glad you're o.k after the treehugging incident yesterday. I normally would laugh at such a crash, however I could see that you were shaking and the tree had come off better. Cake made it better at the cafe afterward ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿ˜†

I've bin doing London Pootles for years matey, and actually own the brand identity. A matter you may want to discuss with my legal team (it's a friend what is a solicitor rather than an entire 'team' I won't lie).

But I'm happy for you to use the name as it's for positive an altruistic reasons. ๐Ÿ˜€

Perhaps there should be a " Elfin does a Peaks Pootle " ride, just to get him in the fresh air for a bit. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That's a valid point you have there Pook ,not everyone can do cakes like us Pootlers ๐Ÿ˜€ Lancashire Bhaji's,not for "them from down south" ๐Ÿ˜›

I've yet to make a Pootle ...ever! Always been scuppered by childcare but (prob gonna be the kiss of death) it looks like this could be my chance experience this phenomenon.

If so, I'm gonna celebrate by making a couple of awesome cakes and bring them to the meet, slice and dish out ๐Ÿ˜‰

Did I mention I'm moving house next Friday ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

............crossing my fingers and testicles in the hope that I can get out for the, erm, 5th time this year??

I think it's the 5th. Maybe the sixth. They've all blended into one stressful, slow, homogenous soup of bad riding, cake and rain.

Well, you'd need to ask SueW and Kevevs off here as to my hillclimbing prowess. They live and ride in North Wales. Proper hills. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I dun Swains Lane on me hybrid SS (38:16) with rack an ting on it. ๐Ÿ˜€

Having fun working out a route at the mo for you all.

It's been a while since we've had an icy pootle too. 8.30am should give us some frozen trails....

EDIT: Checking the weather forecast, it's saying 10 degrees, rainy and dark, with a sunrise at 8am.

Bring your lights!

Right. I've worked out a route.

It's a (surprising) 16.6miles give or take, and includes a couple of great descents - so called 'classics', a cafe stop if needed, some climbs where you can have a chat with your fellow pootlers, and some typical pootle pleasantry.

Anyway, 8.30am at the car park here
