I'm guessing this must have been the last decent as I'm sure I would have noticed!

Bwd, they are all bikes for having fun on. Each to their own innit?

hsmith used to have a hardtail up until recently. Every descent he would trot out the line 'I kept up with you till the rocky bit'.

Every descent was rocks top to bottom.

Crackin ride out and was great to see you all again...

Hora, you wouldn't stand a chance against Smooth Sam Sutherland.
Was like a materclass in 'foot in mouth', i couldn't ride for laughing.

Harry, even from a way off, and on the vid, that crash looks well worth £250!!

Did you read the bit where I said it wasn't a loaded comment? I was just interested that there so many full sussers and so few hardtails when a few years back it would have been the other way round.

I don't really know if full sussers are much faster than hardtails, I guess I always assumed that it was my cack riding and lack of fitness holding me back rather than my inferior bike.

Er, innit?

More4 now. World Sheep Dog Trials with Guy Martin- I'm getting tips Skiprat 😉

Re hardtail v full suss. I'm faster the fitter I am regardless of suspension/bike. The fitter the fresher and more 'on it' you are when you turn down ready for a descent?

Is that a fair statement for the majority of riders on a average/typical rides?

i personally find full sussers faster because on a hardtail i feel the bike reaches its limits b4 i do whereas on a full susser it doesnt

I didn't want to start a discussion about the relative merits of full sussers and hardtails, I just observed that there were lots of the former and not many of the latter. I thought it was interesting, that's all. Can we stop this now, it's just an awful, pointless black hole of a debate.

Please.

My thanks as well to Chris and Jules for the planning, and thanks to you all for making my first pootle such fun, really enjoyed it!
Hora, h4muf - you should have asked, would've happily let you take the 318 for a spin!

I hate to say it but I missed the blonde on the Bradwell decent, but then I always try and look where I'm going. I'm looking forward to seeing her in Chris' video.

Anyway thanks to Chris and Jules for another superb day.

Here's GPS log of today's ride.

Re: bradwell edge. It was meant as an entirely innocent question, which she took in an entirely innocent way.

I can't help it if I've got natural talent. And she was hot

Finally home -

Big thanks to Jules and Chris for a good day of riding, and to all for great company and cake 🙂

Now dozing in front of 'Excalibre' the king arthur film from the80s, and it is slowly merging with my memories of the afternoon... glittering armour, shining steeds, Helen Mirren...

'Ride Hora! Ride the dragon's breath! Your lust will hold you up!'

What's missing is pook sliding further and further down the hill and Harry jumping around clutching his shoulder after the man hug moment.
Harry I remember you were well padded up (except shoulders).

Dawson - wins the best rider award (Kona with red forks and 'V' brakes) 🙂

Thanks Chris that wee film was very entertaining.
