I can't wait to ride there again. Pity I'm on holiday on the next one.

Shame. It was my first Peaks Pootle and will defo be going to the next. Kudos to Pook et al for organising it. Helps a non-local like myself get a shortcut to finding the good stuff.

The 4hr round driving is a bit of a pain in the arse though.

I went on a couple last year and they were ace despite me being really slow and unfit uphill.
The great thing is that you can do the same route again but chat to other people and have a completely different time.

Ohm and as for date, we suggested 4 weeks then realised that was valentine's weekend so thought pushing it back one week might be more appropriate. Not fixed in stone, but we need to make a decision and you'll never please everybody. If LOADS of regulars can't make it though, we should consider changing. I'm available the suggested weekend and the weekends either side - anyone else?

Feb is out for me completely, so I'll be missing this one too sadly (but I'll keep checking in case other plans fall through)

dale - hope you mend soon.
Thanks to you and stilltortoise for all the good advice for the down hills. I've been practising with the heels down, off a bit more with the brakes (not dragging). Just need some more riding time and confidence. Oh and Jules is going to adjust my brake positions.

Lakes pootle - count myself and nbt in please.

No probs Jane.

Some months back did I offer (on here) to join up for a ride around Three Shires Head? My memory tells me there was a Bunnyhop involved in that thread. Was that you? There's some good rocky downhills to practice on around there and Macc forest.

Unlucky, hope you mend quickly! You were right behind me when that happened, it sounded spectacular and I thought I was a goner too for a second.

Are there normally that many broken bones on a pootle? Along with Hora's patella that's nearly a 10% casualty rate, yikes...

I was lucky as when I fell off I missed any rocks. Might have snapped something if I came off in the same way on the harder stuff.

It's like fight club on bikes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yep Dan that was me.

You'll have to come over to our end of the Peaks, there's plenty of rocky stuff (Marple end).

Right, so no date has been set for the latest pootle. Most likely 19/20th though. Jules and I will work out a date and post a seperate thread detailing it. Keep an eye out.

Jamie - cheers. Gloves arrived today. Smell lovely too ๐Ÿ˜‰

And, in no way in a 'pervy' sense, but girls, these are perfect rides to get into the big group ride thing. It's all very social and relaxed. Jane will tell you.

Chances are you're better than most of us anyway, but please come along.

That is very true. I don't stay at the back on the uphills because I'm caring and protective (I am those things anyway) its because I'm fat and unfit. ๐Ÿ™‚
If I come along there is a guarantee you won't be last on the ups....
