So I am in the peak down near bakewell and it looks like rain tomorrow. Any suggestions for fun routes that I am not going to end up sinking in?

Cheers

how well do u know the area?

jacobs ladder into edale, then up to hope cross, left and down potato alley, up hagg side then the DH run down the other side to meet the road that fairholmes visitors centre is on. along to fairholmes, cross over and along BW to the snake pass. Over that, passed heathdene, x the dam then follow BW to castleton, back to edale

That should all be rideable rain or shine

This time of year it'll be fine, might not be mud free but it won't be terrible. Pennine bridleway will take you to cavedale which is always more fun in the wet and should reduce the number of walkers.
But that would be a big ride.

Another option is around longstone edge. Not been that way for a couple of years. Cavedale is unique and a nice low speed challenge but getting there might be a bit boring.

so what about this?

Dark peak / Hope valley is rockier so if it's wet I tend to go there (I.e. on any of the routes described). Whereas the white peak has more fields / mud so it can slow down in some places in the wet.

Having said all that, the 'Bakewell Loop' posted above shouldn't be too much of a problem in the wet and you can start from Bakewell rather than drive anywhere.
