My first time doing the Passporte
Starting from Champery on the Saturday
Where are people sleeping on the Friday evening ? Camping, B&B, Sleeping in car/van ?? I had a look at camping but there seems to be only one site ?? Is there a event centre to sleep in the car ?
Also as for picking the ride pack up, is it best to pick up on the afternoon of Friday or early on the morning of Saturday ? Is there any major cues at the tourist information with every body picking up the packs ?

Cheers Dave

Can't comment on accomodation in Champery, but found it helpful to collect the ride pack the previous afternoon - makes it easier to get an early start on the day.

Doodlebug, it's my first PPDS too. You'll have to pick up your starter's pack up on the saturday morning before you start. Before that and you won't be given your number board at the same time, and without that no chairlifts.

The tourism office will open at 7.30 on Saturday to get your pack, and yes there will be congestion, but there's no way round that and everyone's in the same situation.

Have a good ride!

UK-flatlander, I've been told by a couple of folks that while you can get the pack early, you can't get your number the day before?

Have I been told wrong?

We're starting from Morzine on Saturday.

Can't wait. I'm like a hyperactive kid at the moment! Weather looks like it could be a little damp for the event though?

Well last year the tourist office in Chatel was giving out numbers the previous day, despite the official line being that you needed to collect it on the day. It's definitely worth trying.

Cheers for that UK-FLATLANDER
I'll try and sort it out at the tourist information on Friday and it might save a long wait on the Saturday....
