Passila Bikes, anyone?

[#12824178]

Just stumbled across Passila bikes from Finland in my never ending search for a Ti 120mm hardtail. And it looks like it could well fit the bill.

Anyone know much about them? Steve from HTP has done a very comprehensive review on the Juntu - but other than that I cannot seem to find much in terms of reviews or real world experiences.

Who from STW is in the know? Or is this thread going to tumble down the message board in record time?! Thanks!

Well aware of them, though not ridden one. Look good. I’m sure there was a readers rides feature on one, but can’t for the life of me find it

Almost certainly made by Waltly Titanium from China - no bad thing as I have 2, bought direct from China - as well as the likes of Sonder, Travers, Smokestone. If the price, geometry and vibe get you, why not?

Ti and Porcupines!

The Geo and Vibe is definitely right. And the company seems very responsive. More so that a couple of others I am trying to get in touch with.

The price... is a bit steep and still trying to figure out the Brexit effect on the final payment. Which I think should be sold tax free in Europe and I pick up UK VAT + courier charge. Anything I am overlooking?

And with price in mind... the frame can't be a "well it's alright". It has to be absolutely spot on. But if it is a lighter Solaris with a higher stack and shorter stays... I think it could well be.

Spent 3 months working in Finland a few years ago and saw loads about. Decent, well respected company making decent, well respected bikes as far as I could see. If they're using Waltly and the geo numbers look good, that's a lot of boxes ticked.

Just budget and warranty to go. How many years warranty?

Looking closely at the pics in the story, some bits look similar to my Waltly-built Sonder Signal. Should be a piece of piss to build if the internal routing is all fully sleeved like mine.

5 year warranty. I generally find that when I snap bikes (3) - it is within 5 years.

This is sounding encouraging!
