Hello,

I'm after a part for my old Park Tool work stand PCS-9, 1803 Rotating Jaw Hex Barrel, but i can't find any shop/website selling it. However the park tool website seems encouraging as you can request spare parts. Has anybody got some good experience with them? The issue is the internal thread of the barrel has worn out, and I can't clamp my bike anymore. Here the a picture of the part I'm after:

pktool

Thank you!

Gilles

They directed me back to Madison (UK importer) last time I contacted them for a spare part due to extortionate carriage charges, but Madison aren't listing that part. It may be worth contacting a small engineering shop about making one, or maybe a model engineering society, as a lot of hobbyists enjoy turning out little jobs like that.

One of my offspring managed to snap the screw (Part No5) by dropping the clamp from height onto a concrete floor. Couldn't find one in the UK, but Park in the US had one left and the cost initially including all taxes was over £40.00. For some reason they wrote the cost off & sent the part free gratis to my address. Can't fault their service. They were very quick to get back to me after I made contact.

Have you tried emailing SJS Cycles. They have this similar (but undoubtedly slightly different) looking part.
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/workstands/park-tool-121s-adjusting-barrel-pivot-for-prs2-prs3-prs4-prs5-workstands/
They have a lot of Park spares so may be able to source for you.

Might be worth contacting Park Direct - I had a bit of my 10.2 stand break and no-one was listing it in the uk. Park send me that plus another bit for free. Great service.

I’ve got the same stand and Madison didn’t help. I went to Park and they were very helpful.
I snapped the handle ($6.40) and ordered both barrels too. Wasn’t too expensive with shipping in 2020.

The stand was 15 years old then and lives permanently outside!

Madison range it, code QK1803, £2.99, looks like it's a special order but your LBS will be able to get one if they call up the phone sales guys there.
