Well can you? apart from making sure everything breakable is covered with plenty of tape could I get my lowers powder coated? They are Fox Floats which i think are Magnesium? Will the snadblasting do permanent damage?
Thanks for your advice.
Mike

Did you stop drooling over new forks then?

I'd vote for using a blow-torch and wire brush... what could possibly go wrong? 😉

Or, just peel the stickers off and a lick of hammerite will see them good as new!

In the end, are they really worth chucking too much money after if the internals aren't great, as you were talking about yesterday?

Wrists hurt? But we hardly did anything!! We'll have to get out without the ladies for a bit of a longer/faster ride at some point me thinks...

That one! I did it to my pikes, painted them yellow with hammerite and they looked pretty good after some ebay stickers.

Make sure you rub them back with 1200 grit and then rubbing compound after plenty of thin layers of paint, they'll be fine and it'll last long enough considering it cost £5!!

Oh, another tip, buy your wet and dry from screwfix if you have one of the retail stores near (there's one in sheffield), its £3 for 10 sheets as opposed to halfords megabucks stuff

Ebay pics. You've got to have some kind of gaffaw to give these forum types something to latch onto so they can assume I'm a thief!

Benkitcher. Great job fella.
My pikes need a lick of paint also, I was just unsure of the end result, but your excellent job has convinced me.

Painted my Rev 426 coils, pictured here

but then I do this for a living www.peterflynnclassiccars.com

I could do them for you, it is a fair bit of faffing though and obviously cheaper to do it yourself - if you can.

email me for a price with colour choice if you're serious
