A friend of mine has got a Corsair Marque with totally destroyed decals after removing the Helicopter tape that covered it after a very hot trip to Les deux Alpes, the bike looks a real mess!
He wants to remove all of the paint [the bike has a lot of paint on it; Corsair apparently use something like 12 coats!] and strip it down to bare metal however, while he can remove the Headset, BB, and Linkage, he doesn't want the hassle of getting the main pivot bearings out [he doesn't have the drifts etc]
Can anyone recommend a safe way of removing the paint without damaging the Bearings and what would give the best finish?
Suggestions gratefully received.

As it is an alloy frame use nitromors and elbow grease. Buy more nitromors than you need, get some good gloves, stiff brushes, goggles, plastic sheeting. I also had a dremel with brushes.
