Not very. For maximum reflection and visibility, get some good lights and reflective ankle bands instead, rather than relying on the bag. Good bags, BTW.

These going up and down really catch the eye, immediately identify you as a cyclist by the movement, and are visible from all angles. Respro. Hunky model's sexy ankle not included. 😉

I can't speak for the ankle bands above (and mine maybe need a wash) but I've had a pair since commuting in Edinburgh and I do tend to wear them at this time of year (reversible so flour yellow on other side, velcro fastening). Simple, effective.
