What are your views to riding an orange 5 for mtb events such as trail break, gorrack, which will be mostly bridleways. I have been leaving the 5 at home to use the steel hard tail, but after 20 miles it's giving me back ache.

I doubt you'll be alone.

my view is that you should try riding an orange 5 (or any full suspension bike for that matter) on bridleways and see how your back feels ๐Ÿ˜€

I don't think the 5 will struggle on bridleways, most STWers with 5's claim that they are capable of reaching the moon and causing scientists to revaluate their thinking on dark matter.

Well any FS bike will be easier on your back, peterfile (oh I just got your user name....very funny ๐Ÿ™„ ) is right, the 5 is mega super awesome.

On a serious note I have only one bike, a 5.

I have built it up to be nice and light for summer, tyre choice makes a big difference. On bridal ways etc you wont need anything beefy. I'd say use the 5 but get it light and fast rolling, no more back problems plus it can be very quick.
