Anyone use this method? Two of our group use the type where you have to cut a thread in the steerer tube.

I'm trying to get away from using a pack for shorter rides and looking for easy/easier ways of stowing tools.

Thanks.

Yeap I have one. Was going to tap the steerer but it's not in the size range on this bike.

Stem is nice enough, seems well made and looks good on the bike. It's a bit fiddly to install the preloader into the stem, especially when you skip reading the instructions 🙄. My bike has a integrated headset that falls apart as soon as you remove preload. That makes it interesting to get everything installed. You do the stem bolts first, at which point my setup seems to have way too much play. However once preloaded is fine and has not come loose while riding.

I'm not so convinced by the plastic clip in spacers above the stem. I need to shorten my steerer so these are not required (currently on the border of needing 1 or 2 spacers above stem). When I had them with the thinner on top there was no steerer behind it which meant it was pulled out when removing the tool.

Just got a wolf tooth encase, quite impressed. Easy to fit, nicely made and has most of the tools I need.

Just had a look at the Wolftooth system.

Tempted. Looks useful/clever.

What is the length of the sleeve?

It says min bar inside diameter 17.5mm, but does not state the minimum straight length required on a drop bar.

Can you measure please.

Thanks.

Encase went straight in my cannondale drops without any adjusting, the top of both tools pivots so it goes a fair way up the bend.

Tools around 8cm and insert about 11cm.
