Hiya guys

Snapped my commencal meta today, She gave 6 years of good hard service before snapping at the seattube ! Still sobbing from the lose ๐Ÿ™

Anyway ive been looking at going back to a hardtail for a while now ... Local stuff is all XC based, but do go away to Wales/Scotland a fair bit, So i was thinking surely with the slacker summer season, you could get away with running a slightly shorter fork and still get a nice ride, With a bit of confidence for the downs !

Anyone done it ? Any pics ? How does it ride?

Cheers
Steve

that's the fork-length it was designed for, so it's probably fine, yes.

Mine was nice with my 130mm coil revelations on it. i used to wind them into 115mm generally.

I thought it was not as good at 140mm when I got Pikes.

I'd say 120mm would be just fine.

Hooligan frame BTW.

Running mine with rebas at 115. Feels good but was probably nicer 'all round' with 100mm. However much more fun on downs even with just the extra 15mm

MX Pros at 105mm. Still really slack at that and handles really well. Only time it comes a bit unstuck is on really slow, REALLY steep tech stuff when I'd be glad of an extra few cm of fork travel to raise the front end a tad. But apart from that, I love it with forks that short on it. Want some 120mm Maxled'd Rebas on it next.
