Is the On One Scandal no more?

Frames aren't listed on the website any more. Inbred frames still are, but on pre-order. I'd have thought the Scandal would be on pre-order too if it was going to be available any time soon............

We had a thread about this recently. People thought that there was more profit to be made with the carbon frames...

The V2 Scandal was more of a 'trail' bike, and got replaced by the Parkwood. The original Scandal was a bit more 'xc racer' and got replaced by the various carbon frames.

Parkwood is the successor, and getting good reviews, but is definitely a 'trail' bike, you do see second hand scandal frames for sale at reasonable money on here quite regularly though.

Ok thanks, I suspected it would struggle to be unique in the current line On One up.

Looking for a 29er frame to build a rigid commuter from, the Inbred is a possibility but's on back order.... and the Scandal was nowhere to be seen!

Got a 16" mk1 29er and it's fantastic. Only gripe is I wish I had got an 18" frame as it feels a bit short compared to my C456 in 16".

Mk1 Scandal was hard to beat. Still got mine, still racing on it.

Mine had morphed into a SS road bike on Big Apple 2.35" tyres. Just lush for a 120mile day tour around the Highlands.

Turned it back into a race bike for the WEMBO 24 hour. Still a lovely handling bike.

My 26er mk1 was class, stopped me from ever taking the Inbred very seriously again though. Rubbish trailbike, terrible with 130mm of fork in it but great at 100mm. Keep on nearly building a 29er one

Wasn't the mk1 actually proper scandium alloy (hence the name) but the mk2 plain old aluminium?

I think people are talking about the V2, which had revised geometry?

I understood that the Lurcher was the Scandal replacement - at least at current prices (£280ish) - and it has the same geometry.

Yeah, but you have to put a bag over its head before you ride it. 🙂

"inbred frames on pre order"
surely they've dropped 26" versions by now?

My 26" scandal is one of the best bikes I've ever owned 8)

Although at the moment I am thinking about selling the scandal frame and my full susser and building up a slightly longer travel hardtail as a do it all bike. But if they've stopped doing them maybe it's worth hanging onto it for now incase I realise I've made a mistake afterwards 😆

I'm with soma rich. I sold my Scandium early Scandal to fund a FS which snapped just outside warranty while the bloke I sold the Scandal [black ano ]to still uses it. I have been thinking of telling him that 26" wheels are so last century and I will give him ten bob and a pickled egg to buy it back, just to do him a favour of course.

A lot of the steel options seemed to have disappeared when I looked a week or two back. Shame really as they are the only products that I like aesthetically. If I were spending the carbon money I would be looking at cotic and others for pretty / steelness.
