OK,
So I just ordered a pair of these from ChainReaction - 2.1 * 26" folding in black and red.
As ever they turned up nice and prompt and are now on my Prince Albert.
BUT - one has the normal red around the beading and another wider band below the tread and one has red only around the beading.
The packages have all the same reference numbers on them.
Now - I don't mind as the one with red on the bead only looks OK on the back. But why are they different?
Ta,
DrRS****.
ive noticed some variation meself.
So there's nowt wrong with 'em? If it's just a case of Panaracer not managing to keep it consistent then fine.
The reason I asked is I remember years back that a batch of dodgy ones was going around and the way of telling was something to do with the banding.
Like I said - the one without the wider red band looks pretty good on the back of the bike.
I remember some thread (old forum) about a difference between Jap and Tai made ones. For racy days I've currently got an XCpro and a Trailblaster, both with the red stripe - they look annoyingly different. At least yours are exactly the same type supposedly. You could ask CRC spose?
I could - but I thought the, ahem, ammassed wisdom of SingleTrack would be able to answer more quickly.
I don't really care - they're both folding, both look the same tread, I was just confused by the difference in red banding (I work in quality assurance and it wouldn't have happened on my shift!!!!!).
But - you know what will happen. I'll be out riding and some **** will ask why they are different. "Becuase they are" seems a lame answer......

"some **** will ask why they are different"
Just tell em that one is an xperimental helium filled model and watch a thread appear on here about it ๐
LOL.
Tempting.......
where do you get the blue rimmed ones from? seen them on some peoples bikes
You order red rimmed ones and see what turns up - LOL!!!!!
I thought Blue rimmed ones were only available as Trailblasters?
I am probably wrong - like I said, it's been years since I've used anything so skinny (been using Fat Alberts for donkeys years now).
