[#10351905]

Just got my Salsa Mukluk delivered. Great I thought, chuck it together and off for a ride.

So try as I might I cannot get the 11 speed gears to stop clicking. I've adjusted countless drivetrains before but only 2x10 (and below) never a 1 x 11.   I've fiddled with the limits, I've fiddled with the barrel adjuster on the shifter. i've started again from scratch and re-tensioned the cable. Still the chain jumps!

What have i done wrong or has the mech taken a bash in transit? I can't see any obvious damage but on the lowest gear when I backpedal the chain always comes off and back down the cassette...arrghhhh driving me mad

Chain sitting right on the Jockey wheels? (they are NW too I think)

I've fitted two sets, and moved them between bikes. Each time I've also followed the SRAM fitting instructions online, which has been great. And essential. Have never experieced any issues once fitted. Look at the SRAM info as cable location, mech b screw adjustment, chain length etc seem critical.

Yes will do. I've got it fairly well set up now but when I back pedal on the largest sprocket it drops off down the cassette (not into the spokes). When  I back pedal on other gears its fine. Maybe something to do with chainline? it is a fat bike....

Mostly sounds like lower limit there if it's going down the back

I'm in the same boat but with GX, have never worked on such a fussy drivetrain! Have £20 quid's worth of SP41 outers and optislick inner ready to install in the hope of achieving some semblance of decent shifting...

no its not going down the back, as i said its going back down the drive train when I back pedal. Lower limit is spot on

s'funny with this sram drive train (NX and GX) it seems that either it works almost straight out of the box or it is a right fiddle. My mate has a bossnut and that has a clicky drivetrain what ever he or a lbs does yet several other mates have bossnuts and they are just fine.

OK misunderstood what you were saying, b tension close enough?

Though at this point I'd be looking at a quick check with a hanger alignment tool

There is a special template tool for setting up the "B" adjustment.
