Who's used these pedals and what are your thoughts? Are they a lot less gripper than the nano tech pedals? Looking for something for all mountain riding, other contenders are nano tech, mg1 and superstar mag.

I didn't like them at all... You want a set cheap 😉 Nanos are great pedals, but the convex Electron body didn't work for me at all, just took the weight off the pins. I've taken pins out of my Nanos but they're still head and shoulders above the Electrons

Grips not bad at all. i wouldn't say they are brilliant in the grip department though. i will be replacing soon as I've ripped 2 pins out of the pedal which has taken parts of the pedal with them. I've had them for 7 months btw

I guess £20 if they're in as good condition as I think they are, £15 if they're not... Any less than that and I'll stick them on the commuter 😉 I'll dig em out tomorrow and have a look

I think the electrons are fine. They're light and cheap but not nearly as grippy as the superstars. It's due to the convex shape I think. They have been on my bike for around a whole season and are lasting very well, the bearings are perfect (and clean) and the body has plenty of scuffs but nothing serious. The pedals seem to slide over rocks rather than the rocks digging in and ripping bits off.

FWIW I've never slipped a pedal on the Electrons. I think that you don't really need that much grip and sometimes I prefer the Electrons as it's easier to move my feet.

Depends what your priority is:
Weight and price but not out and out grip -> Electrons
Price and grip but not worried about a few extra g's -> Nano's
Grip and weight but not price -> Take your pick!

I did a review of the electons with some other pedal weights in there if you want. The superstar nano's are linked to from there.

When I got mine the pins were not screwed right through . Once I tightened them grip and feel improved a lot. I am now starting to notice stiffness in one of the bearings.

i use electrons with five ten impacts. the amount of grip is ridiculous. too much in fact for most riding. i have never used the pedals with any other shoes so can't comment on these alone.

Tempted by those, the free delivery makes them extra cheap for me. Any idea how long they take to arrive?

What pedals is the grip comparable to?

I'm comparing them with V12s and Slim Jims - neither of which are the slimmest or grippiest around, so the Electrons are a big improvement for a similar price.

+1 for the carbon cycles exotics. Very grippy with 5 10's. I Think I'll get another pair just for parts shelf.

Looks like they're not the worst pedals out there. What are peoples though on mg1's?

First ride on the electrons I found them a bit lacking in grip but they settled in nicely (or I changed my technique a little). Really like them and not one pedal strike since (I had v8s before and they have gouges down them from bouncing them off stuff).

I've used Electrons for most of 2011 and they are ace.
May not be the very grippiest pedals ever, but as Basque Doug says, they are plenty grippy enough.
