Hi,
Anyone know any details on seatpost size, f.mech size etc.
Guessing 27.2 but not sure.
I have one on the way and want to start getting some bits for it.
Thanks

I can check tonight when I get home, I know I had to play around with shims on the front mech to get it to stay and the seat post isn't standard because none of my quick releases would fit.

What size is yours? Would you mind measuring the length of the headtube for me?
Cheers

Hopefully Sim will be along in a mo. Didn't he get one as a long-termer?

I saw that from around a year ago, but haven't noticed anything since. Found on the website that they take a 27.2 post, just not sure of OD now, and head tube.

Mine's a large (and is too big for me), can measure it later if no ones beaten me to.

Got my eye on the new Surge when it comes out next month.

I did indeed have one as a long termer, unfortunately not for long. The first frame I had I couldn't get the seatpost to go up and down without a lot of brute force which led to me scratching a Thomson seatpost to bits. Hotlines sorted me out with a replacement frame which had a correctly reamed seatube but the dropouts hadn't been finished properly so I couldn't put a rear wheel in. Shame really as when I did get to ride the first frame I was impressed.

FWIW I love mine, even though it is a bit too long. It's done all day epics to a bit of cheeky downhill and it's a blast. Bought it cheap off from a mate as a stop gap when my Trek EX8 got nicked and 12 months later it's still my only bike.

Good to know krag, so no problems like Sim mentioned above? How tall are you and what length stem are you using?

Na, seatpost seems fine apart from like I said I've not got a QR clamp on it. Chainstays are looking a bit battered and rusty where it's worn but to be expected on a steel frame that gets abused.

I'm 5"10, running a 75mm stem but I've got a 50mm kicking around that I really ought to put on there.
Other specs are uturn 454 pikes, hope pro2 hubs/mavic xm321 wheels, drivechain is a shonky mixture of deore/lx stuff I had kicking around but waiting for it to wear out before I replace. Tyre clearance is fine with 2.35 fat alberts too.

Crap, sorry mate completely forget when I was home last night. I'll nip out the bike shed at lunchtime.

Don't worry krag, found details on mtbr.com after some searching - should have done more of that yesterday. Thanks for the help everyone though, it's appreciated.

Well, managed to get this built up last week, a lot of stuff off here, some new, and a few bits I had anyway. I'm pretty pleased with it, seat tube seems fine!
Great fun to ride, long and low but good position with a 70mm 0 degree stem on.
