a group of us is looking at doing this North Downs Route.

However to make navigation easier, and the ride more enjoyable instead of stopping and starting would anyone have this route in gpx format?

My hard drive's packed in, but I may have a spare copy of the route on my work PC, will check tomorrow!!!

Its a big old boy, I've only done the full route once and finished it in darkness.

Instead of descending down ranmore common as shown on the map, take the left along the road called white downs while you're going along ranmore common road (10, 50 on the map). Keep you eyes peeled for a trail that heads off the road to the left maybe 500 metres along. You'll be rewarded by a fantastic bit of singletrack with some steep roll ins and coupla jumps...great stuff!!! Though there's one steep going to very steep/wet chalky and off camber bit near the start that I haven't mustered the bottle to clear yet, hats off to those who can!

That route also gets very close to, but completely bypasses, numerous well known local trails...

According to the description this is a medium route - so is there a loner one? It's not too long though; that route goes past the end of my road in Great Bookham and regularly do that kind of thing but never up Boxhill though plan to add that on sometime - however we sometimes climb Holmbury twice and go over more to the west of Pitch Hill so probably similar distance overall. I think it will be hard to follow without following a gps so take a lot of time - not that it'll be easy with one as there are so many tracks about.

Let me know if you want a guide.

Despite what the description says, that's actually the long route.

I've not done the route but I have plotted it in Tracklogs. Let me know your email address and I'll send it to you in gpx format.

There's some bits that I'd "amend" as they'll be a bit grim - the track along the top of Ranmore will be deep mud holes 'cause of all the "lets offroaders" and maybe cut some of the far flung route in order to take in Leith/Holmbury/Pitch/Winterfold singletrack. I think its Simon's route - although I can't remember which way round he goes on it.

mudshark - you out on Saturday or Sunday?
