I remember seeing a Walking boot conversion job on STW last winter, anyone ever bone the same to a set of skate/BMX shoes?
I only ask as I have a knackered old set of etnies which are probably going in the bin as the heel end of the tread is a bit knackered and the uppers are quite worn, but the Mid sole and forward section of tread are in goodish order.
I have a hankering to attack the soles with a stanley knife and a drill and see if I can make them SPDish...
Thoughts/Advice?

They wont be very stiff though?

Unless you get some metalwork across the inside of the shoe you'll rip the cleats off in no time
