Installing some fresh gear cables on a couple of my bikes
Some articles say barrel adjusters all the way in before installation, some say just shy of halfway / three whole turns out
What’s the general STW consensus on this?!
One turn out, just because it's easier to move when some cable tension is on
IME cables need tightening rather than loosening after the cable is pulled through and anchored
That was pretty much my own train of thought
One turn out on both derailleur and mech?!

Yep that should work. Can't think of any reason why you'd want more than 1 full turn on the barrel.
To be honest I've never bothered putting a turn on the derailleur adjuster but if you want to it's not going to do any harm.
