MrsP has pretty much destroyed the shimano XC50N shoes that she's used Spring-Autumn for the last few years. The MT7GTX looks like the obvious replacement but I'm struggling to find alternatives - most shoes make a big deal over venting but that's exactly what she doesn't want. What else is out there that goes as small as a UK 5?
For the 2nd time in as many days I’m going to recommend the Lake Mx237 in an SPD shoe thread.
CX orientated so they’re pretty toasty, look classy and just work, as well as being damned comfy.
I would have said Giro Terraduro as that is what I got when my XC50N's died, but I think they have been superceded now. So whatever the new model is may be worth a look.
Northwave do 'shoe' versions of their winter boots without the ankle or insulation which sound like what youre after?
I just use the boots as soon as the ground gets wet though, appart from mid summer they're never too hot.
+1 for Giro Terraduro's. Best shoes I have ever used.
Those NW look great - definitely prefer the simplicity of the flap to cover the tongue.
The Terraduro's just have the three straps. Not a biggie, but winter crud control would be better.
O'neal Loam - its a touch insulated too.
Boa copy can be a bit finicky but it hasn't broken so far.
