Will I die ? Fitted xt8000 crank non boost to my Segment which has a 148 rear axle . Shifting is fine top and bottom of cassette no issues, chainring on turbines look to be non boost.

All Santa Cruz XTM8000 builds are supplied with non boost cranks.

If you have ring/chainstay clearance, non-Boost cranks work better - much better chainline.

If you don't use 3" tyres then you'll be fine. My Occam is running 2x11 with Boost hub and standard cranks.

You sure about that?
My Hightower came with a boost XT crank.

None of the SC in my local dealer, including mine, have boost cranks.

Mind you, none of them came with the KS stem they were supposed to, burgtec instead.

Lots of them come in with better kit than they're supposed to.

I tried boost and non boost rings on my bike. It actually works better with the 'wrong' non boost ring.

I've got 3" tyres though so need to use the boost ring for clearance. Chainline in first gear is horrible looking. Works okay though.

I've since swapped* the boost crank for a none boost version and TBF the chainline seems better.(backpedals better in the 42t)
*stolen it for another bike that wouldn't work without a boost crank as the chainring hit the chainstay.
