I'm pretty sure it will have a fender stuck in there on the full production versions and coils are less susceptible to shit.
Best place for a coil shock is as low in the frame as possible.

Glad I went ahead and ordered a new Tracer as soon as I saw that test mule.
I guess the shock position helps them fit a full size bottle cage which seems to be all important these days.
The colour doesn't help, it looks like an XL which never look as nice as the medium frame, but it could just be the shock position making it look bigger.
TBH there's only ever been 1 good looking Nomad frame, the current one, but it's an SC, it'll be popular, it will be desirable and tastes will change to it.

Interesting ideas for an enduro bike, there's room for a bottle in the front triangle and a coilover if one desires.
I'm still trying to work out what's keeping it from being a flaccid mess on the corners with the combined leverage of two linkages at either end of an exaggerated 'V' rear end. One can imagine that riding this would feel like playing snooker with a length of rope.

That is the production one. The test mule was all white and knocking around a few months back.

Reducing upper link length by dropping top tube would alter the axle path.

Crapping Dog comparison was tired 1st, 2nd, 3rd times around - never mind the 4th.
The design element that led to the comparison was the top tube bulge around the head tube area - a design that almost all other brands have since incorporated, and that interestingly SCB have moved away from. 😉

Having owned a nomad mk2 and mk3, I won't be rushing to by a mk4 on the ascetics, however i guess it's down to how it rides though

And the large has a nice low seat tube, which I wish more brands would do.
The designer interviewed on PB used to work for kona I believe, so maybe the process geometry was an influence.

Not really unless the warranty covers damage rather than manufacturing issues
If I was in the market for a Santa Cruz Enduro bike I'd hold onto my money and wait another month for the new Hightower LT to be released i.e 150mm travel 29er. ;-D
Not exactly sure what is meant by an "extremely linear and progressive shock rate", and I'd be wary of any claim that the bike could run either a coil or air shock equally effectively - that smacks of compromised suspension dynamics to me.
I think it looks awesome, totally on point bike for hucking and shredding.
Makes a change for a manufacturer not to make another "aggressive Trail" bike.

no but I would say it's taking it's lead from that bike and the nomad, the bikes all tend to be a progression from one thing to the next with a lot of testing around what they have.
