[Closed] Nokian mtb tyres..

I had some, they were great for summer, made weird noises on tarmac in the wet though....

Their Gazzalodi DH tyres were.... utterly shocking.

Less grip than slicks on an ice-rink.

And they weighed a tonne too.

I've got some Fat Hakka DHs hanging up in the garage. Weigh a tonne and lethal on wet tarmac due to their plasticy finish. Pretty reasonable tread pattern though.

Whatever happened to them?

Handful of problems and lack of momentum I'd say. They separated from main corporation (car tyre business), went through couple of name changes, moved some of the production to Taiwan etc.
They still produce some tyres under the name Suomityres but other than studded winter tyres are not very competetive products these days: http://www.suomityres.com/
