[#2157888]

Just found out that when I switch my Niterider MiNewt 200 on my cateye cordless 7 stops working. I'm guessng it's RF interference, but I didn't think a LED driver would put out that much. I'll try moving them apart to see distance involved, at the moment the light is 3" away from the display.
Any other Ideas?

On further investigation, with light 6-9" away from display, signal gets through when on high beam but not on low.
Has anyone else had this happen?
It's not happened with previous sets of lights cateye triple shot, light and motion Seca.

I suspect it's related to how the driver in the light drops current to the LED.

I'm no expert but I think some of them 'switch' rapidly to reduce lightoutput and maybe that's what's generating the interference?

That's what I thought, I just hadn't considered it as a potential problem before and I did think the driver would create so much interference, It's micro electronics FFS not valves.

it 'used' to always be mentioned in bike mag reviews (particularly road ones) but I've not seen it mentioned for a while so had assumed that designs had changed and the problem gone now.

Might be worth some communication with Niterider to query?
