[#1974083]

anyone got one? Opinions? thinking of it for commuting duties with the helmet mount, USB charging and no extra battery being big attractions. I know they do a 150 lumen but figured it's best to get as much light as possible. Details here.
Thanks.

Flashy for commute and bright enough for the Wed night spin.

What do they cost? I like the USB charging idea for when I ride into work.

Ive had the original minewt for a couple of years, its good enough as a back up headlamp to get you home along twisty singletrack. Its also the best made light I have ever owned, much better quality than the hewn from a billet of alloy stuff in my opinion.

The new one is twice as powerful with no wires, sounds like a winner.

Or, how about this one, which you can get off ebay for £40 posted.

The Raleigh does have a long battery life, 7 hours, that's pretty good. Worth finding some beam shots, whether it's more of a spot or flood light. Still £40, that's only £10 less than a DX Light. Probably not as quick to take off the bars, but some come with a helmet mount and a cable extension so You can keep the battery in Your pocket.

Also I would like to see what kind of quality is the RSP light.

You can get the 270-ish lumen bike light that was posted on here not so long ago for £6.50. I've got a UltraFire torch that has similar light output, runs on 2AA but last only about 2-2.5h on full. Cost me £10, carry spare AA's and can be run on rechargeables. It's a better option for me if You forget to charge the light with a built in battery.

Didzy - we have a voucher code STWTBC in place for STW people.

You are welcome to use that for an additional discount.

I'm toying with buying two of these rsp ones, that way i have a charger at home and at work, it will also help with the spot like beam the light apparently gives out - 2 spots better than one!

Yes....

We have a couple in the shop/on demo.....

Using it as a main light currently for Wed night rides with a helmet mounted DX type...

For the dollar/application/easy of use....(and charging).....a winner!!

It doesn't come with a helmet mount but there are always cable ties! I'll post once I have had a play with it.

Well the two have arrived. First impressions are very good for £40 each. They both charged up in under two hours, very easy to attach on the bars (no tools). Beam is fairly tightly focussed. They cycles through high, low and flash through a top mounted button. Quick release which is ideal for my commuting use. My only concern might be that the recharge rubber cover may break as it looks a bit weak but it will be on the bottom of the light when mounted so shouldn't be too much of an issue if it does. Wouldn't like to try and helmet mount them as they are very smooth with no obvious anchor points. Haven't done a full burn time test but they both ran 5 hours on high with out problems. Overall for the £40 posted I paid for each of the two I bought I can't really fault them. lets see how they fair over the winter!

Hope that helps.
