Was going to ride the trail tonight but not sure what time I'll be getting there, so where can I park that I won't get locked in? Was also planning on checking out the pump track round the corner in the daylight too, if they can be combined? Not sure what the local area is like?
North Road, by the entrance to Leigh Woods.
you could park on the road outside the university then ride up through the entrance to ashton court.done it many a time seems fine.
ride there, it'll be a good warm up.
The pump track is pretty well lit from the road next to it so you can ride it after dark.
Ride there, it saves faffing time getting the bike out of the car and means you don't need to get changed out of muddy clothes in the cold and dark to drive home.
If you do need to drive then parking outside Bower Ashton campus means you can go to the pump track first (follow signs for Festival Way) and then afterwards head back and then up through Ashton Court to the trails. You may need to climb over the gate to get it.

I wouldn't - cars get broken in there. If you must park on N. Rd park nearer the suspension bridge where there are more cars.
I've parked there for a few years and not had any issues although I'm always pleasantly surprised when I return to my undamaged car rather than expecting it :p
Thanks for the tips, I'm beyond riding distance and am visiting a friend down that way hence needing to park.
You could also park in the Clifton College sports centre, which is just through the lights by beggars bush lane on the left hand side (heading out of bristol) if you were worried about break in's the car park is open till at least 10pm and is free
