New bike time is nearly here but I'm undecided which to go for. I've got it down to the Nicolai Helius AC Techline and the Santa Cruz Bronson S AM. Sellers of both brands swear by their brand (and mostly own them too) but no shop sells both. Does anyone have experience of both bikes, and well positioned to make a proper first-hand comparison?
I'm leaning towards the Nicolai but I'm interested to see what others think of the two bikes.
I'd go Nicolai....
But I do randomly dislike Santa Cruz bikes....always feel far to small to me
And well the Nicolai is described as " techline form a unit of uncompromising functional, robust and aesthetically harmonious components"
Both bikes will be ace but nicolai are almost too bespoke. This isn't a problem until you decide to sell it. Most 2nd hand nicolai bikes don't sell very well at all whereas Santa Cruz bikes always have a good resale value.
This might not be important for you but it's something I try to consider when buying a bike.
