Been with orange since the days of wanadoo, and still have the original big livebox. Tbf, I can't complain as I've had 7 years of really good service. My only niggle is that in my favourite lounging chair, which is a bit of a distance away from the said livebox, I don't get a great signal.
Plus net are doing good packages ATM, will the newer router be any better?

A new router will make a difference - technology has come along a vast distance in 7 years!
When you plug the new box in, ask your ISP to re-run a line check (to fine-tune the signal). Might even get a decent speed increase!
