Looks nice I think, wonder if they're do a frame only and different colours.
Bit of a fight with Bird mtb?
I saw that and thought...new bike for me next year! (if I can't afford a Chromag)
This, the Bird and the Saracen Zen all look very similar.
No bad thing if they're what people want.

What people want is a Production Privee Shan (google images one, it's stunning)....but the cost is often just too much for most people to spend on a hardtail frame....so lots bikes that look remarkably similar are cropping up now....no bad thing, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all that.
The Shan has a extra seat tube/top tube gusset tube thing which looks ridiculous.

Add to the list..commencal meta ht.

Interestingly the Production Privee and Bird logos are also similar... just one is upside down
The Shan has a extra seat tube/top tube gusset tube thing which looks ridiculous.....as does the Zen, the Bird 650, that Ragley at the top of this thread etc etc.... they are all virtually Shan copies!
So less Shan, more Sham?

Except that the Shan is made of inexplicably expensive cromo, and these are all alu. And just looking at the Shan and Bird the geo is fairly different too.
So I think what you're basically saying is, they're all hardtails with nice paint and a wee link tube between the seattube and top tube. And since the Shan's hardly the first of those in the world, how does that make them copies?
Northwind go over to Pinkbike and have a glance at their 'sexiest AM hardtail' thread and see how many times the Shan crops up, it seems to be the standard to which all other hardtails are compared. The thread now stands at 450+ pages and the fans of hardtails over there seem to pee their pants when a Shan is posted.... it therefore didn't surprise me that there is a bunch of very similar looking (but cheaper) bikes coming out from other manufacturers.
Yes the design is pretty simple and had undoubtedly been done before but that sloping top tube joining almost seamlessly to the seat stays creating a single line to the rear axle is gorgeous, the gusset may or may not have a purpose structurally (i'm no engineer), for me it makes the bike look more robust.... take it away and you have the shape of the Soul, the Slackline etc...all fine looking bikes too but like I said, check out the Pinkbike thread on the subject to see what the kids are going crazy for.
I know, it's a great looking bike- I'm just not convinced you can call it a copy, when the one interesting feature is one that's been around forever.
It's not even the first Ragley with a seatmast support of this style, the Troof had it back in 2011, and had very similiar lines overall (other than the fugly curvy seatstays, which kind of ruined the look)
Taking the rear gusset away doesn't make it look like a Soul or Slackline...of which I had/currently have. The gusset breaks up the lines and looks unkempt. If its there structurally it shows Cotic Bfe/Stanton are built better IMO.
For the record the slackline has the sexiest rear end I've seen...apart from the wife obviously. 😉

It doesnt crop up more than stantons, chromags or on one 456s to be fair
Me, i'm a ragley fan to be honest( even one of my dogs is called Ragley lol) and this looks great
I've got a Ragley Piglet and a 45650b so I'm not knocking Ragley (or it's cousins!) but I'd sell a kidney for a Shan!
Shame my next MTB is likely to be full suspension as I also like the 2014 Dartmoor Hornet.... it can run forks up to 160mm, has a tapered head tube, aluminium and a 12mm bolt through rear end... now that's a hardcore hardtail!.... As a pleasant bonus they are £180 too, awesome.
