thinking about getting my kona resprayed and want some opinions (preferably on topic)
here's the before, or now:

it now has white forks, next model up but look pretty much the same.
and here's a first go at the possible new look:

the text on the top tube just says caldera '05 at the moment. other options are my name, in a post ironic sort of way of course. or a lady type name like Talula or Betsy.
what do you think?
about the colour etc, not the dodgy photoshop.
I'm thinking of some white grips to match the new forks and a brown saddle too.
while I'm on the subject does anyone know where would be a good place to get stickers of the text done to go under the lacquer? would vinyl ones be too thick?
cheers
anyone?
The blue looks OK, as does the revised Kona logo. I suspect if you had a womens name on the top tube you'll soon get fed up with people asking why you've borrowed your girl friends bike ๐
Argos in Bristol do excellent resprays and can often supply replacement decals and apply them to the frame before they put the lacquer on. They've got a wide range of colours as well.
Like the shade of blue..... what is it??
I've always liked the wrap around graphics on the down tube, like them there on them Cotics or the new Ragley's. Maybe you could try something like that.....
I reckon it looks pretty neat as it is. If it were mine I would either leave as is or go for something far more flamboyant to make it quite personal/unique. Perhaps a pearlescent or sparkly finish - might not be the best finishes for MTBs though
cheers guys, I was trying to get a sky blue type of colour, something similar to the rocky mountain(which looks very nice) but probably a little bit lighter. GJP - I like the original paint job too but after 4+ years of riding it is covered in chips so I want to do something to personalise it, I did see a handjob for sale on here recently in black with a sparkly finish, that looked very tidy.
Argos sounds good, I was looking at dave yates to do the job as he's close to me, does anyone have experience of his work?
