Chainstays seem quite long; 445mm on the AM. Not sure if that matters and maybe that's just the fashion these days, but that's longer than some 29ers (e.g. Whyte T129).

445 isn't long.

my last downhill bike had 470mm chainstays - that's long.

downsides: harder to hold a manual - y'know that thing you have to do ALL the time...

(but never had a problem lifting the front for drops, etc.)

upsides: loads of front wheel grip, and tyre clearance.

short chainstays are massively over-rated, and don't come without problems.

On a bike like the Mega, where the rider will be struggling to hold on over properly-rough terrain, longer chain-stays are a pre-requisite surely...

I DO want a Mega, not sure whether TR or AM though...
