As above has anybody on here stayed there and if so what's it like?
Stayed there last November. It's a good location to do the W2 ride from. It was a miserable wet cold day, but we happily rode out of the lodge straight into the Wall final few descents.
Seemed a good price for basic bunk accommodation, but had everything we needed. Great lasagne and chips for dinner for a £6, almost more than we could eat.
Last year I think we paid £25 per person and had our own room (2 beds) with en-suite shower and breakfast. Excellent value for clean, modern facilities. The owner and staff are really friendly and helpful too.
I think they had some event on which meant we couldn't use the kitchen ourselves, but they cooked for us which was good value too.
Location is perfect for the trails; between The Graveyard (RIP) and The Wall descent.
As above, cheap, basic and literally on the trails. Food is limited in choice (especially if you're a veggie) but you do get a lot on your plate.
if it's the one i'm thinking of it also has a 4x track, and also has the afan bike park right outside it.
Thanks guys just booked 2 days over the bank holiday.
It's a cracking lodge, make sure your hungry & proper safer to leave your bikes locked to your car or inside mind.
