Just bought one of these which I can't wait to build up (will aim to post pics when done). I've got Pro2 hubs and would like to see if I can run a 12mm maxle in the rear. I know Kona's DOPE system allows you to fit 12mm compatible dropouts but I think only on certain frames. Does anyone know if this can be done on the Dawg Deluxe? If not, I'll just run it QR or could possibly think about getting some custom made dropouts.
I've just done similar to you but bought a Stinky TL which comes standard with 12mm DOPE dropouts, which I've swapped to DOPE Lite q/r for the moment so that I can run my q/r rear hub until funds allow a new rear wheel.
CRC are listing various dropout options separately at the mo' - driveside dropouts are the same whichever braking set-up you use but non-driveside come in DOPE FL (for use with the DOPE floating brake arm) and DOPE. The standard DOPE dropouts will fit your frame as will the DOPE Light (the only ones which won't are the new DOPE 2) - the only difference between DOPE and DOPE Light are the extra cut outs you'll see on your current dropouts - standard DOPE doesn't have these but the bolts and fixing points are the same.
Have a look here for a bit more info on DOPE dropouts.
Thanks mamadirt, that's really helpful. So it seems I will be able to run a maxle if I swap out the non-drive side for one (which I presume) has a threaded 12mm bolt hole to take the maxle.
Not sure about the maxle as that needs a threaded dropout doesn't it? My Stinky came with 12mm non-floating dropouts and a Kona 12mm axle - the dropouts just have a standard non-threaded 12mm axle hole. If you swap you may need to run a 12mm bolt-up axle instead of the maxle.
