My brand new Fox 36 Rythym won't give full travel, even with all the air out, any ideas? They've been used 3 times. If it helps, they had 5 x volume reducers in, but I've taken them all out now. Came with a Focus jam2.

What is full travel? How are you measuring it? How much travel are you getting?

Full travel is 150mm. Let all the air out and they didn't sink all the way down. If I push, they will reach 150mm. About 25mm still showing with no air.

So, if you push down on them with all the air pressure out, you can get them to go to full travel? I don't see the issue if so, zero pressure still means there's air left inside the fork, as you're not putting the air spring into a vacuum... so that little bit of air left needs to be compressed to get the last 25mm.

Ha Ha! .... although my forum name isn't strictly accurate ...
Every other fork I've had sank all the way down with all the air out. If it is normal for some air to be left in, fair enough. Out on the trail though, they didn't get anywhere near full travel. I'll keep tinkering ...

I watched a Fox service video on youtube the other day, when the fella removed the air chamber it went ‘pop’ cos there was air left in the fork. Looked like a blob of grease was stopping all the air from being let out. Though I’ve described this very poorly, it sounds to me like your fork could have the same issue 😁. (I’ll check my history and post a link)

about 5 and a half mins along: “Positive air pressure in the negative air chamber “

Positive air pressure in the negative air chamber

That will cause the fork to suck down into it's travel when taking air out of the positive side, right? Had this on my 36, and it was rectified with removing excessive grease from around the air piston.

EDIT: If I understand correctly, the OP's fork is doing just this, which it shouldn't.
