Hi all, fitted a new chain today been out on a ride. it hasn't skipped on the cassette at all, but when in the little ring on the front the chain sticks to the ring and makes a loud clicky noice whilst pedalling. It doesnt seem to jam at all, just really annoying. Is this just because it need to bed in? will it go?

many thanks

Will

Have checked both, teeth are straight, and no stiff links, but thanks anyway. Its not as if it does it in one part of the chain or the chain ring, its all the way round... Seems wierd that im havong troubles with it on the front rings rather than the cassette which is usually the problem with new chains. ๐Ÿ™

Are you sure you have routed it through the rear derailleur properly? Sorry to ask such an obvious question but it's very easy to route it the wrong way past the little peg inbetween the jockey wheels.

Also are you sure the chainrings are not like shark fins ans grabbing the new chain? How worn was your old chain? Do you have a chain checker.

Yup sounds like chain suck from having a new chain on a worn chainring. New chainring time

Just had a look, Captainmainwaring your right, they are alot sharper and slighly curved compared to the other two rings. That would explain why it was gripping onto the chain. seems odd it makes such a loud noice though ๐Ÿ™„

thanks alot though
