Evening boys and girls,
I've been running an XO1 cassette and XX1 chainring since October last year. I've only covered about 500 miles on this bike as I use it almost entirely for racing only.
The chain snapped last week so I've just replaced it. The chain that snapped showed less than 0.75% stretch and was used mostly in dry conditions with a decent dry lube. I'm a bit confused as to why it would just snap but I guess these things can happen!
Anyway, new chain arrived today and shifts fine etc but makes a horrible crunching sound when under heavy load. I understand that it's not going to mesh with the cassette 100% perfect but will this sound go away once the chain wears a little?
Yep, each time I've put a new chain on my XX1 cassette it's done that for a while.
Phew, glad I can get away with the cassette for a while longer then!
