Nice, I too have a fond memory of Zaskars.
My favourite was a 99 Cosmic Sunrise LE.
Even converted the rear to disk with a modified A2Z adaptor thing.
Frame got a bit bashed and then converted to road use before selling frame only to a guy in Germany for quite silly money.
Have a 2009 Zaskar Elite frame for the turbo bike now but it isn't really what I'd call a true Zaskar.

Forks look bent but it's a camera trick as the certainly were ok.

Nice. I actually scored double. I had GT Bike as a search alert in market place. One came up at lunch today.
So got the one with full xtr (Inc hubs) mavic x3. 1 ust rims and SIDs for 850 and a nice little 16" Zaskar circa 2000 (disc brake tabs on frame) with lx groupset for 150!
Very happy. Have hidden my one on the garden until swmbo finds it or notices the cash gawn from our accounts. Forgiveness is easier than permission, right?
Now got a couple of bikes to service and clean up. Forks need a rebuild and service and the front xtr hub has a tiny bit of play.
The xtr Zaskar is super light.
I'll get some decent pics at the weekend.
