It'd be great if someone could comment on the length of the rear brake hose!

Initial impressions are: Quite light, wrong tyres for this time of year, should be 2x10 not 3x9, yellow yellow yellow.

I really like it, though how you managed to crash into that tree 3ft up is beyond me. Are you dangling from one of the branches?

That's the least horrible C456 ever!

It's a Whippet, not a C456.

Nice bike.

Is it? I stand corrected- turns out it's the least horrible Whippet ever!

<edit- just realised I might sound like I'm being genuinely rude, I'm not- I've got a C456 myself and love it. Would love it more if it were yellow like me old Mmmbop and my commuter though!>

colour looks great.

think you need to do up the seat post clamp though as it's slipping out 😉

and yes, 3x9 is so wrong for that bike. Needs 2x9 or 2x10.

I'm hoping you raised the seat post to hook it on to the tree?

Looks very nice indeed. 1x10 even nicer 🙂

Wonder if a c456 in yellow would look that good? Think it's the slightly curved down tube that make them look a bit funny.

Excessively long seatpost> Check.
Long stem? Check.
Frame too small? Check.

Thanks folks! The seatpost is quite long, and looks ridiculous at that angle.

Shorty121 - the frame was £299. The rest was pulled off my old bike (hence the slightly long stem). No idea how much it weighs - not as much as me!

Very much an XC bike (is that still allowed?) - not very niche. Stem is 80mm I think. Will need to ride it a bit to get everything right (and justify spending yet more on bikes).

2x9 is an interesting idea...

I just love how someone posts a picture and half a dozen wade in 'oh look, it's too small'.

Maybe it's a 'little on the small side' as opposed to the next size up being 'too fuggin big'.

I remember some knobber was adamant my soul was too small for me. Amazing! All from a picture!

Thought about one of these myself recently. They look good in the plain yellow or red and are good value at £299. Nice job.

Ohhhh - I thought the Whippet frames had potential to look nice without the random whippet graphic etc etc....

Can a whippet take a 120mm fork? [isn't it the same geo as a std inbred and they ride ok with 1200mm up front?]

1.2m could be tricky 😉

same geometry, but the effective head tube is quite a bit shorter due to the internal headset.

Thanks and apologies for the typo. 1.2m would be nice and stable in a straight line down hill though!
