First ride impressions having come from a 20" Beinn are "a bit heavy", "big", "love the suspension", "love 21 gears".

Might have an air leak from the fork though ๐Ÿ™

Nice bike!

If you find a source for lightweight 24" wheels let me know, as in general they are always the worst area on these bike. (Scott Scale 24" here).

source for lightweight 24" wheels

The Cannondale had come with Alex Z1000 rims & cheap / functional hubs. I need to resist the temptation to use the Hope XC f&r hubs i have laying around and build them into the Alex rims. If he warrants* discs i may, as the spec'd hubs are not disc hubs, but the frame & fork are.

*i can the justify buying SLX brakes for me & giving him my Alivio.

wilko1999 - Yea, got Blingo dropped of by the wife at Coaley Peak and descended on the single track through the woods to Selsey Common and then canal to Noahs. Got home at 19:45 with a very hungry & tired son!

Sweedish Chef - you can get ZTR Crests in 24" rims. Just riding along have some.

Thanks, those Crests are disk only though.

Racing BMX rims laced to normal Shimano hubs seems the best way to go for anything half decent.

Awesome stuff, bit jealous at the amount of air gained in the action shot - puts my efforts to shame!
