Omega Man has had a facelift which is quicker and more fun. Have you ridden there lately? Proteus?

No, I've not ridden in Scotland for ages.

Wasn't sure if there was a cafe or a bike shop there. Could you recommend one?

I do believe there is some good quality services at Ae.
The post was meant to see if anybody has been over lately to ride the new trail sections and to get an opinion.

that'll be rebuilt rather than new I think? Apart from the new section bypassing the ridge at Mabie, there's not much actual new 'wasn't there before' trail happening at the magnificent 7.

Plenty of smoothing out and facelifting tho', bring your bmx ๐Ÿ˜‰

Plenty of blocking an destruction of well established "off route" and secret stuff, which, i confess, i do not understand.

In the Tweed valley

Yes the trail has had some smoothing out in places which is all good for a wide variety of mountainbikes. Also the odd BMX ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

All the stanes are getting a boost over the next few years and work has just started on this in the past few weeks. Ae among others will have vast improvements. I am sure Granny Green Love ( anwsers for how they thought of that one) will get a makeover but not sure when. At Ae we are trying to get the volunteer group up and running again after a long spell out, for reasons of a safety nature, and this will speed up maintenance and keep it going all year round. This will happen in due course and it is happening quite rapidly all thanks to the 7 stanes team and Forestry Commission Scotland.

Its definately not as good as some of the other Stanes and the improvements will be welcomed but to describe it as just 'shite' is wrong.

i take it you need some nice smooth manicured trails then..?? "get a rood bike"

I personally like the fact that the trail is rough and corroded in places, has a more natural feel and a bit more of a challage.. quality place... ๐Ÿ˜€

Ae? Sh*te? What are you on about? I rode it for the 1st time a ouple of weeks back and thought it was a great trail. The diversion off Omega was a drag but fun all the way round otherwise.

The easy DH course at Ae is great fun imo - not ridden the whole XC trail so I can't comment - but really, whining about a free purpose built bike facility seems rather churlish (unless it's the North Face trail in Grizedale, which really is poor ๐Ÿ™‚ )
