The sealed cartridge bearings on my Fulcrum / Campy rear hub and freehub have gone a bit rough. I managed to get an extra few hundred miles out of them by cleaning / re-greasing them before winter but popped them out last night and I think they definitely need changing now.
The official Campagnolo bearings are way too expensive (and crap) so was thinking of going with a set of Enduro bearings which I can source for about £30 for the 4 I need from here; http://www.bearingsrus.co.uk
Does anyone have any other recommendations (e.g. other online retailers or eBay sellers) that might do similar quality bearings for cheaper?
Just pick mine up from bearing shops these days.
This place normally gets a mention (Just been searching through old threads looking for answers to a similar question).
I'm after some for my pro2s though which he definitely has - not sure about your hub but worth a look.
Thanks chambord I forgot about them. They don't have the particular size I need for the freehub though. I've only found one eBay seller that does the freehub bearings and they're only a couple of quid cheaper than the Enduro version so for the sake of longevity I might just stump up the extra few quid.
Local shop for bearings. The free hub ones are generally more expensive. While you're there a long-nose circlip remover is a good purchase if you don't all ready have one for the free hub.
£30 for 4 quality bearings isn't a bad price tbh. My experience of enduro was that they're not quality bearings but different models might not be as crap, they do get good reviews.
Kaesae was helpful finding some that he didn't have listed, for a mate of mine, worth a try. And I think we should support our STW madmen.
@ Sandwich - I heard that I will need some circlip pliers for the freehub. Will any old cheap set do or do I need a specific size?
@ Northwind - what issues did you have with Enduro bearings? Longevity or just general performance?
simply bearings; good prices, good service, did the job for me
or if you wanna go really posh then goldtec / BETD
@Devash- just longevity, I got a set of their BB bearings and they lasted a handful of rides.
Ah I'll keep that in mind then.
I used Rulla Bearings a couple of months ago for BB and headset bearings, it's a mate of someone from here, I was impressed, bearings all seem good, very well priced. I'd use them again.
Just find a local bearing/engineering shop and get whatever they have in stock from the better brands (they'll usualy sell SKF/FAG or similar and something cheap). Just be sure that they're definately generic bearings you need, it's sometimes possible to get bearings with the same part number as generic bearings but with different thicknesss, radiusd corners etc.
I got the bearings for a Fulcrum freehub from here

@ njee20 - Rulla Bearings are actually the only seller on eBay that has the right size for a Fulcrum freehub and they're a couple of quid cheaper than Enduro ones.
@ StuE - cheers, I'll check em out.
As others have said - buy branded - FAG/SKF/TIMKEN/ETC from your local bearing factors.
The 'bike specific' stuff might be just re-branded white-box Chinese gear.
