[Closed] Need a Commuting Bike - Racer or Cyclocross??

Hi All

I have a new job which means I have a longer commute than normal and my Genesis Altitude Steel hard tail is not up for the job. I'm looking for something second hand under £300 if possible.

I need a bike that's going to get me there and back in relative comfort, but also withstand my ample frame (I'm 6'2" and 17 stone!!).

I've been looking at Genesis Vapour and Day Ones as well as Charge Bikes etc, but don;t really know what the best thing to do is. My Altitude 20 is fine for the woods, so don't really need an 'all in one' bike, just something that's going to do the job (I may need to add panniers too).

Also - at 6'2", is a 58cm going to be OK (Been looking at a vapour in that size) or should I be thinking about bigger still?

Any advise would be extremely gratefully received.
